India bows its head

Nuclear talks between India and US has been on notes for the past few months not only in India or US but also in International coffee tables. There was a flood of arguments from both the proponents who supported the deal and from the opponents who accused Congress led UPA govt for compromising India's national security. The picture was very vague in and around July 18 when the 'historical' deal was signed. Both India and the US were claiming that they have won the bargain without compromising much of their own interests. So it was claimed to be a win win situation for both.
It is a well known fact that there cannot be an everlasting secret as far as political diplomacy is concerned.Everyone knew,as the time passes the whole story will unfurl and the plot was an unexpected one. Until the vote of India against Iran everyone was dubious about the winner and loser of Indo-US high profile match. I appreciate Americans for ingeniously managing the role of world's CEO(may be this s so early to use such a term) also for their manipulating power and I pity our own Great democratic leaders for their inability to forecast the secret agenda of US.
Now our leaders are working hard behind deal to please the US. All other nagging issues in our foriegn diplomacy are kept on shelves. The major setback was to the Gas pipeline from Iran to India through Pakisthan. If realised that project would have alleviated india's energy shortage to a great extend. But our leaders believe that nuclear energy will satisfy India's needs. they were unable to calculate the time frame for the successful establishment of these nuclear energy sources. And our leaders couldnt see the huge financial burden india has to suffer on implementing seperation of civilian and military nuclear activities. It would be wrong if I said that India has got nothing. What India gained is a lot of promises. So now we can only wait till those promises to be fulfilled.
